Unfinished Solid Hardwood Flooring

Wood Floors Atlanta installs more solid hardwoods floors than any other type of wood floors. Nothing is quite as beautiful or feels as nice on bare feet as real wood floors. We can provide and install a wide variety of styles and colors to meet any client's home decor needs or tastes.

Most of our hardwood floors are installed unfinished and nailed to the subfloor. The floors are then sanded, stained and sealed. It takes a real craftsman to do the job properly, that is why our reputation is known for quality workmanship at the highest level. Our hardwood flooring option for homeowners and business owners is having unfinished wood installed over wood subfloors on site.

Hardwood Floor species come in a multitude of choices. We can provide the product for you and install the wood, or you can order it and we install it. If you order the wood from us, we will warranty both our labor and the wood. Choices include red or white oak, cherry, maple, hickory, ash, mahogany, teak and walnut, plus some exotic woods. The other choice a client must make in choosing the right hardwood flooring is the stain color and the sheen of the finish. Our experts can provide you an in-home estimate for new hardwood floors, and help you decide which type of hardwood species and stain colors might work best for your lifestyle and environment. We provide dustless sanding, and our finishes are offered in both water base or oil base.

The decision to have us install unfinished hardwood floors or prefinished hardwood floors can be influenced by whether the house is a new construction or an existing home you are living in. Unfinished wood floors will need to be nailed or glued down, then sanded, then stained and sealed. We use a dustless sanding method to keep the work area dustfree and clean. There will be some time when the floors cannot be used as they need to dry. On the other hand, installing prefinished hardwood floors means they get nailed or glued and are ready for use immediately as they already have a factory applied stain and sealer. For some families, this is the only choice. Many people, just love the look and feel of hardwood floors that have been finished on site by an expert craftsman. One thing about solid wood floors, everyone loves real hardwood floors. Their beauty is unmatched by any other product.

Engineered Hardwood Floors

Engineered Wood flooring is real wood and come in the same species as prefinished or unfinished hardwoods but are a thinner version applied over plywood. It can be sanded a few times if it becomes scratched, but does not have the ability to be sanded many times like real hardwood flooring. It is a good idea to use engineered hardwood floors where there is a question of moisture, like bathrooms, basements, kitchens, but not wet areas.

Engineered hardwoods are made by layering wood and gluing them together and placing a thick hardwood veneer on the top in a variety of hardwood species, stain colors and finishes. Engineered hardwoods are more resistant to humidity and moisture than solid hardwood floors, and can be a good choice for areas that are subject to more abuse. They have a tongue and groove and can be glued down directly on concrete or stapled to a wood subfloor. Some of the newer styles of engineered wood flooring can be floated over the floor without being attached. Engineered hardwoods hold their value almost as much as hardwoods because of their durability and are a great value for resale.

Hand Scraped Hardwood Floors

Atlanta homeowners and business owners have fallen in love with hand scraped hardwood floors. This style has a texture and comes in a huge variety of wood species, stain color choices and finishes. These floors can also be customized with the amount of scraping, staining and highlighting and grain species. Our expert installers can install hand scraped hardwood floors in either homes or businesses and are fast becoming the most popular style of hardwood flooring.

Laminate Floors

A cost effective choice for many homeowners, property owners and businesses is laminate flooring due to it's initial low cost and ease of installment. Laminate flooring is really a high res picture of wood imposed on a plywood base and is resistant to moisture and rough use. Laminate flooring cannot be sanded if it becomes damaged though. Most laminate flooring has a tongue and groove and is installed by gluing to the subfloor, or floating it over concrete or subfloor.
